Introduction


Welcome to the Introduction to EOC for Public Health course! 

Course Goal and Objectives

The
goal of this course, is to provide you with introductory Emergency
Operations Centre knowledge, including the role and purpose of EOCs,
their organizational structure, functional responsibilities, as well as
activation and operational considerations for those assigned to the EOC
during an emergency event.  

Learning Outcomes
As a result of completing this course, you will be able to:
1. Describe how EOCs support emergencies and disasters.
2. Explain the purpose and responsibilities of an EOC.
3. Explain how EOCs fits within the broader public health emergency management framework.
4. Describe the Incident Management System - EOC organization
5. List the responsibilities of common EOC roles and functions.
6. Describe considerations for staffing and EOC set-up.
7. Describe common EOC activation processes and practices.
8. Identify measures to support the performance and wellness of EOC personnel.

Course Expectations
In
this self-paced course, you will progress through on your own schedule.
The course will take approximately 3-4 hours to complete and you may
access the course content as many times as you like. You should aim to
complete the course within two weeks of enrollment. 
General Expectations - You are expedcted to review all the content lessong, complete the practice knowledge checks, and then successfully complete the final course exam before the course and date.
Grading/Evaluation - This is a graded course. To pass the course, you must obtain a
passing grade of 70% on the final course exam. If you do not pass on
your first attempt a second attempt will be provided. 
Successful
completion of this course is required to advance to higher level courses
in this training series. You will be able to download a course
record/certificate upon successful completion.
